Hello! My name is Uzo Njoku and welcome to my portfolio. I would describe myself as an “artpreneur” with a heavy focus on creating community and unique user experiences through art that is not just limited to a canvas.
SUMMER EXHIBITION
In March 2023, I planned on having an exhibition for the Summer to come. The gallery I planned on working with lost their location and I was left in the dark in defeat. It was not until I made a social media post expressing my concerns, that two young women (Harsh Collective) reached out to represent me for this exhibit. In 3 days, Harsh Collective went all over Manhattan looking for a location and found one on 807 Washington St., a 3 min walk from the Whitney. The exhibition opening was scheduled for June 9, and I gained access to the location 3 weeks prior. I was able to turn an empty gallery into an apartment with the help of Harsh Collective, friends, college classmates, and people who believed in me. This is Apartment 26 and the community I am creating through art.
